How to connect a GSTIN to the GST portal (API access)
Let Bebaak talk to the GST portal for one GSTIN — for e-invoice, e-way bill and return data — without anyone typing the GST password into Bebaak. You enable API access on the GST portal, then verify it here with an OTP. Every step is recorded in the activity log; the password, OTP and session token are never shown or logged.
Who can do this: Organisation admins (Client Admin).
Steps
Step by step
- On the GST portal (gst.gov.in), sign in for that GSTIN → My Profile → Manage API Access → Yes, choose the duration and confirm.
- In Bebaak open Settings → GST → GSTINs and pick the GSTIN.
- Enter the GST portal username for that GSTIN and press Request OTP.
- Enter the OTP the portal sends to the registered mobile / e-mail and press Verify.
- The row now shows the session as live with its expiry and the API access end date. When it expires, press Re-authenticate and repeat the OTP step.
Tips
- Only organisation admins see this screen.
- Do it once per GSTIN; each GSTIN has its own session.
