How to handle exports invoiced in INR
Exports invoiced in rupees where RBI permits (for example through a Special Rupee Vostro Account): LUT, settlement mode, realisation and EDPMS — without FX gain or loss.
Who can do this: Admins and Accountants. Viewers can open it but not change anything.
Steps
Step by step
- Open the shipment (Trade → shipment) and choose INR as the invoice currency.
- Make sure your LUT is recorded (Settings → GST & e-invoicing → LUT) so no IGST is charged.
- Choose the settlement mode (e.g. SRVA) and record realisation in INR when it arrives.
- Update EDPMS status as for any export. There is no exchange gain or loss on an INR invoice.
- Check with your bank (AD) that the arrangement is permitted for your buyer's country.
