Applies to: Bebaak (app.bebaak.co) — any organisation, including Bebaak itself. Last checked: 5 November 2026.
Provider menus change from time to time; if a name below differs slightly, look for the nearest match. Never e-mail or share your keys — paste them only into Bebaak.
What you get: from Bebaak you compare courier rates for a parcel, book it (Shiprocket creates the order and assigns an AWB with the courier you pick), get the label PDF, ask for pickup, follow tracking, and cancel — all on your own Shiprocket account and wallet. Shiprocket bills you for freight as usual.
Before you start
- A Shiprocket account with KYC done, a recharged wallet, and at least one pickup address (Settings → Pickup Addresses). Note the pickup location's exact name.
- In Bebaak you must be the organisation's admin.
- Important: Shiprocket has no separate test environment. In Bebaak's Test mode, only rate checks and tracking are called; booking, labels, pickups and cancelling work only in Live mode (they create real orders).
Steps
- Create an API user in Shiprocket. Sign in at app.shiprocket.in → Settings → API → Configure → Create an API user. Use a different e-mail from your login (Shiprocket requires this) and set a password. This is not your normal login.
- Open the wizard in Bebaak. Settings → Integrations, choose Shiprocket under Shipping and start the wizard.
- Paste in Bebaak:
| Field in Bebaak | What to paste |
|---|---|
| API user e-mail | the API user's e-mail from step 1 |
| API user password | that API user's password |
| Pickup location name | the pickup address name exactly as in Shiprocket (e.g. “Primary”) |
- Press Save, then Test connection. Bebaak signs in to Shiprocket with the API user. Status “Connected (test passed)” appears only if Shiprocket accepted it.
- Webhook for tracking updates (optional, recommended): Settings → Integrations → Health & log shows a “Status webhook” address for Shiprocket. In Shiprocket: Settings → API → Webhooks (tracking webhook) → paste the address. Shiprocket then pushes status changes (picked up, in transit, delivered, RTO) to Bebaak.
- Test-mode check: Settings → Integrations → Shipments → New shipment → choose Shiprocket, fill the delivery address, both PIN codes and weight → Create → Compare rates. You should see couriers with prices and days. Tracking an existing AWB also works in test mode.
Go-live checklist
- Untick Test mode in the Shiprocket wizard and press Test connection again.
- Book one real low-value parcel: Compare rates → Book this next to a courier. You get the AWB.
- Get label → open the label PDF (saved privately on the shipment) and print it.
- Ask for pickup (choose the date). Check that Shiprocket shows the same order and AWB.
- Cancel a test order if needed with Cancel (only before pickup — Shiprocket's own rules apply).
Troubleshooting
- “Shiprocket did not return a token” — wrong API user / password, or you used your login instead of the API user.
- “Shiprocket has no test environment…” — expected in Test mode; switch to Live to book.
- No couriers in the rates — the PIN codes are not serviceable, the weight is too high, or COD is not allowed on that lane.
- AWB not assigned — wallet balance too low, or the chosen courier is not active on your account.
- Health & log shows every call, tries (Bebaak retries up to 3 times on a brief outage) and Shiprocket's message. Keys are never written to the log.
Security notes
- The API user password is stored encrypted; Bebaak signs in with it only for your organisation's calls (the session token is kept for a few hours).
- To stop: Settings → Integrations → Shiprocket → Disconnect (keys deleted). Your shipments in Bebaak stay as a record.
