How to create a quote, order, challan or invoice
One form creates every sales document: choose the customer, add items, check GST, then save as draft or submit.
Who can do this: Admins and Accountants. Viewers can open it but not change anything.
Steps
Step by step
- Go to the list (e.g. Sales → Invoices) and click New, or use Quick create.
- Choose the customer (start typing to search). Their place of supply fills in.
- Set the date and any extra dates (Valid till, Expected delivery or Due date).
- Add lines: search an item, enter Qty and Rate. GST shows Item default — change it only if this sale needs a different rate.
- Check Sub total, tax and Total at the bottom. Add Terms & conditions if needed.
- Click Save as draft to finish later, or Save and submit to make it final (invoices then post to your books).

Questions
Draft or submit?
Drafts can be edited or deleted and don't affect your books. Submitted documents post to the books; to change one, cancel it and use Amend.
