How to set approval rules, the authority matrix and delegation
Approval rules, authority matrix (delegation of financial powers), delegations, segregation of duties and reminders.
Who can do this: Organisation admins (Client Admin).
Steps
Step by step
- Open Settings and choose the section (or search settings by name).
- Settings → Approvals & delegation.
- Approval rules: Add a rule for any document type or event, or use One-click templates.
- Authority matrix: limits by position, amount and scope (department, cost centre or entity) — adding a limit itself needs approval.
- Delegations and Out of office; Segregation of duties rules.
- Review How fast approvals happen (last 6 months).
- Click Save. Sensitive values — GSTINs, number series, security — still go through approvals if your organisation has approval rules for settings.
