How to set up a bank account for statements
New in v0.20: link each bank account to its ledger, choose the statement layout, and set how statements arrive: upload, the account's own statement email address, or your own mailbox (IMAP).
Who can do this: Organisation admins (Client Admin).
Steps
Step by step
- Settings → Banking.
- Choose the Ledger in your chart of accounts and the Statement layout (Auto recognises SBI, HDFC, ICICI, Axis, Kotak, Yes, IDFC First, Bank of Baroda, PNB and Canara; Generic lets you map columns).
- Tick Apply my rules automatically after each import and, if you like, Accept statements emailed to this account's address — copy the address and set your bank's e-statement or a mail rule to send there.
- Or read statements from your own mailbox (IMAP). Only CSV, Excel and PDF attachments are read; password-protected PDFs need the password.
- Upload the cancelled cheque or a recent statement under Documents.
- Connected banking / Account Aggregator is not active — it needs a licensed partner.
